Telehealth aims to improve health services in underserved areas

The telehealth scene is reminiscent of one at a rural health care provider's office, but Wednesday it was played out inside an 18-wheel truck.

Telehealth grants awarded to Tennessee healthcare groups
KNOXVILLE -- AmeriChoice by UnitedHealthcare has awarded more than $300,000 in grants to expand the use and availability of telehealth services in Tennessee. Tennessee Community Health Network was awarded $290,000 that will support telehealth staffing, additional specialized telehealth equipment and further infrastructure development. A $40,000 grant was given to Tennessee Primary Care Association to support virtual Continuing Medical Education opportunities for providers using CHN’s telehealth network
