Federal Issues

TPCA Representatives with Senators Corker and Alexander in Washington, D.C.

Community Health Centers, also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers, were created by federal law, receive federal grants to help subsidize the care of the uninsured, and are interested in a variety of federal policies.  Our two U.S. Senators and nine Members of Congress make critical decisions every day that impact community health centers and our patients.  Current information about Federal issues can be found on the National Association of Community Health Centers website.

Each year TPCA and Tennessee’s CHCs travel to Washington, DC for the NACHC Policy and Issues Forum and our annual Congressional visits.  This is an important time to network with each other & our peers from across the country, receive timely information from the expert staff at NACHC, and to meet with our U.S. Senators and all nine of our Members of Congress.  Our Congressional visits provide a valuable opportunity to tell our story and advocate for access to health care for all Tennesseans.  For additional information, we encourage you to take a look at the NACHC Policy & Issues Forum or contact Jackie Crumley at jackie@tnpca.org.
