About Our Members
- We have a network of 31 non-profit Community Health Centers operating 136 sites across Tennessee.
- Our members consist of 24 federally funded Community Health Centers with 118 sites and 7 community & faith-based centers operating 18 sites.
- Our members serve over 270,000 Tennesseans each year.
- Community Health Center funding comes from TennCare payments, private insurance, patients’ sliding fee scale payments, Medicare, state funding and a federal grant that offsets the costs of serving uninsured patients.
- Community Health Centers are a primary source of care for poor and uninsured Tennesseans. Health centers serve communities in areas where private health care providers and hospitals are not easily accessable.
- The federal government has oversight over community health centers and evaluates them in the areas of governance, clinical outcomes, fiscal management, and overall administration. Community Health Centers follow the regulations required of federal grantees.
